Sex dating in bristow oklahoma
- People lined a rural highway in Bristow Saturday, protesting a sex offender who moved next door to his victim.
Danyelle Dyer's uncle, Harold English, served time in prison for molesting her when she was a child. “I struggle with the emotions that it brings back and it brings back a lot of things I have put away for years that I don’t want to think about, and that I’ve kind of covered up and not spoken to many people about," said Dyer, who was protesting along with friends and family near the home where her uncle is living. I could not believe that the grandmother would let him move in, knowing what he had done to her," said friend Michele Dowdy.
“Hopefully, not only will it change Oklahoma’s state law, but other states could possibly change their laws as well.” She says there's a problem with the system because sex offenders are banned from living near places like schools and playgrounds, but not next door to their victims.
But she says being a victim isn't a badge of shame.
- An Oklahoma woman says the man who was convicted of molesting her when she was a little girl now lives next door.
“He’s like right there, practically in my backyard and that kind of makes me nervous and not want to go home ever,” said 21-year-old Danyelle Dyer.
The Bristow Police Department and the Creek County District Attorney’s Office requested Monday that OSBI investigate allegations that Bivins was having sexual contact with a student.
As a result of that fear and trauma, Dyer decided to post about the situation on Facebook, which has quickly generated outrage in the local community, per KFOR.“It’s adding one word in there where it talks, where they can and can’t live, just adding ‘victim’ right there along with schools and playgrounds,” said Danyelle.“Supposedly he paid his debt to society and as long as he’s not near a church or a daycare or where children gather, he’s free to do as he wishes,” said her dad. Now, Dyer has to live next door to the man who pleaded guilty in 2005 to charges of lewd molestation.
“He’s like right there, practically in my backyard and that kind of makes me nervous and not want to go home ever,” Dyer told KFOR.
BRISTOW — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has arrested a former Bristow Public Schools teacher who is accused of having sexual relations with a student. Bivins, 24, resigned from his teaching position at the high school a few hours before an agent took him into custody Wednesday afternoon, according to an OSBI news release.
